The Exam is Not Just the Child's, It's the Family's Exam
Since the LGS preparation process coincides with the student's adolescence, it is a difficult turn both academically and emotionally. In this process, the parent's attitude is as effective on the student's success as studying.
1. Avoid Comparison
The sentence "The neighbor's son scores this much" is the sentence that kills motivation the fastest. Compare your child not with others, but with their yesterday self. Appreciate their progress.
2. Show Unconditional Love
Your child should feel that you love them not because of the exam result, but just because they are your child. Threatening sentences starting with "If you don't win..." increase anxiety.
3. Organize the Home Environment
Provide a quiet, tidy environment free from distractions (TV noise, guest density, etc.) for studying. If possible, accompany them by reading a book during study hours.
4. Keep Your Expectations Realistic
Not every child has to win a Science High School and may not be at this capacity. Know your child's abilities and limits. Cooperate with our guidance counselors when setting goals.
5. Be a Listener
Don't always be the one giving advice. Sometimes just asking "How are you today, are you tired?" and listening without judging is worth the world. A child with a full emotional tank focuses better on the lesson.
